Teen Challenge Leeds Youth work is an exciting growing ministry of Teen Challenge Leeds. Based upon the general principles of Teen Challenge we aim to make a big difference in the lives of dysfunctional youths from deprived and difficult home environments so that they never take drugs themselves.
The young people are currently mainly from the South Leeds area of Leeds in particular Beeston, an area with a great deal of problems. Many of the families they come from have issues with drugs.
What we do
Friday Night Meeting
We hold a weekly meeting for the young people who have decided to become Christians. Our meeting follows the same structure of a traditional church service with Worship, Communion, a Word with a time of fellowship afterwards. We learn memory verses and challenge wrong attitudes ( especially to authority!). The change in the young people is caused by them changing their lives to be in line with the Bible.
Sunday Morning Transport
We provide transport on a Sunday morning for the young people to go to church.
Monday Night Meeting
The young people on a Friday wanted their friends to come as well so we put on a Monday night meeting which is open to anyone. We listen to the young people and the issues in their lives and respond with positive suggestions and challenge their own negative views of themselves.
